I think Mass effect 2 is going to be one of my fav games, I'm really enjoying my first play through, and don't have anything bad to say about it.

I beat the game last Sunday as an Adept. I started on an Infiltrator a little bit ago on Insanity difficulty but its tough as nails so Im taking it slow. Loved every moment of the game.

Just beat it with my imported ME1 character. Going through again now with a harder difficulty with one of my other imported ones.

I like it, a lot. Much harder than the first, especially once you get past normal difficulty. I think the story in part 2 weaker, but the gameplay is much better.

Beat it twice with my female (best option) Shepard imported from ME1. Lost nobody on the final mission.
Legion in the vents, Miranda on 1st team lead, Samara on shields (used Grunt and Jacob for my squad), Garrus on 2nd squad lead, then sent Mordin back to the ship since there seems to be a bug that pops up for some people where he dies for no apparent reason. Left Grunt, Garrus, Jacob, Jack, Thane, Samara, Legion, and Tali for the "Cover my Ass" team, then took Zaeed and Miranda on the final run.

Do everything (including Legion's loyalty mission) before triggering the runup to the final mission. I would have been really pissed if the Collectors had liquefied the girl that is feeding my fishies.

I think the scary thing is that I sometimes get emotional when I'm describing situations in the game to people. I was really bummed when I had to leave someone behind on Virmire in ME1 (I left Ashley since Kaidan was my main squeeze), and like hell I was going to lose anyone on this mission.

For some reason I never got to the end of ME1. Just kinda got near the end, got bored and stopped. Then the same thing happened with Dragon Age... so I haven't gotten ME2 yet.

Great game played through it once. I love how they added the planet mining, I find it very relaxing though my finger gets tired from holding down the triger.

Playing through on insanity now. Its actually not that bad. A couple parts that were mindnumbingly hard the first time around arent too difficult with some strategy. The hardest part so far was the final area in the Horizon Colony. Good lord that was ridiculous.

Anyways, theres a whole ton of free DLC right now if you are part of the cerberus network. They just announced theres going to be another one soon involving another teammate you can add, but you have to pay for it.

ME2 is one of the best games I have ever played. Huge improvement over ME1, which had such a tremendous plot but kind of lackluster gameplay.

Getting to see Tuchunka and Clan Urdnot (particularly if you fulfilled certain ME1 requirements like I did) was just.. <3. Love me some Krogan.

It's a great RPG for sure, and I really love the improvements from the first game (no more Mako, Woooo!!!). There are a few things that could be better though. I realize that they can't just give us the resources for upgrades, but mineral mining is really, really boring. Additionally, if you don't import ME1 data, the game assumes that you made all the evil choices in the previous game. Lastly, MORE WEAPONS! I know they wanted to divide weapons into more familiar roles, but they didn't have to scrap the customization thing entirely.

8/10 from me.

Once you beat the game, in the second playthrough you dont have to do NEARLY as much mineral mining. They pretty much give you most of the minerals. Combine that with importing your ME1 character and you'll have all the materials youll need for awhile. Also, It would be kind of stupid not to play the first game and just jump into the second act. That would be like watching Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back before watching A New Hope. Giving you all the evil choices is just another incentive to... I dunno... actually go back and play the first game? I beat the first one 4 times so Im a bit biased on that point. I can understand where you are coming from about the weapons but I didnt see much of a need for customization. I did fine without it.

Hello there, I own this game too, so I'll give my thoughts on it.

For me, it's an incredibly enjoyable game. The visuals are great, and I like the very nice balance between the storyline and the action. I don't feel like either part is lacking at all, and plus the environments that you visit are somewhat colorful, even though quite a few of them still feel like the same shade of brown, it would have been nice to visit a planet that was more vibrant.
The gameplay is a little wonky for me, but the overall controls are pretty good. There was only one or two times where there was a major screwup that I encountered with controlling my character. One of those times being that I glitched into the ceiling. That was not fun. -__-
The audio is also great in the game. Both during cutscenes and gameplay, the audio never felt out of place or weird. It felt very orchestrated and well thought out. I enjoy listening to good music in video games, and this is a good example of a game with good music in it.

The acting seems a tad flat though. Couldn't the actors have put a little bit more emotion into it? Oh well, I digress.

I still enjoyed this game overall. It's a blast playing. Grin
