Sunday, June 10th - Island Lake State Park BBQ (Brighton)

PT and myself are organizing a meet at the Island Lake State Park in Brighton for a BBQ feast. Burgers, hot dogs, sandwhiches, drinks, games and music and etc! So mark the date and more details will be on the way~

Time
Setting the time for about 4PM 3PM

Entering the Park/Getting there
The suggested entrance is by Grand River and Kensington road (exit 151 off of 69), a few yards south on Kensington road just after a small bridge and will be on the left.

Unless you have a Park Pass (year pass or speical car registration), it will be 5 bucks a car to get in (a year pass is 15). Please carpool if you can we got 40 parking spots there.
EDIT: Apparently they've changed things up now ~_~ It's 10 bucks for a season pass/a car and that's all they have (they've been sucking at upkeep and organization due to cut backs).

Shelter Area
I have reserved the "Riverbend Shelter" area. Once you enter the park and pass the booths, turn right immediatly and follow that path down for about half a mile and it will be on the right.

Pricing of things
The shelter cost an amazing 68 dollars and a dollar or two would be appreciated. Donations for helping with more and other food supplying is appreciated as well.

For each fields there's as you can tell, a few choices like plates/silverwear etc. If you offer to bring something, please specify which so we don't have TOO many of one and not enough of another. Please bring something to pass around as well that you think people might enjoy :3

I know we got time til the meet but I don't want a dozen people bringing the same thing. Yes and no..its at a, due name, river bend. It's kept clean but I don't know of its -exact- condition, haven't had the time to run back out and look in the water lol. They can be brought yes, but do note to watch out for any last moment crap people put in and the temperature of said water.

Awww, alrighty then. Have fun at the wedding (save the cake!).

Also note for everyone, I checked the water, its all clear asides for some typical stones and sticks BUT there IS a large rusted pipe coming out of the ground at the water level when it just goes down and then water. its mostly underwater from the "mainland" as I'll put it and about a foot out. So watch out for that.

Ok so we've got three weeks to the meet and I'm honestly hoping that people are just absent-mindly leaving out that they're bringing something because at this point...its just gonna be some meat and small amount of dessert and a couple drinks. Honestly, I wouldn't really care myself since I'm a small treats kind of person but I worry for you guys and the outcome of this meet. I wanna start doing this kind of meet every couple of months or something like it but without the help of supplies it doesn't go too far.

That, was seriously probably one of the best meets we've put together. We had plenty of food, snacks and drinks, almost too much even haha. Hookahs, I saw some games as well, lots of chattering and some swimming for a few furs! We tried getting a count but we are sure we had at least 40 furs there so..yea! Amazing you guys, thanks so much (and thanks for the generous donations to help lessen the strain on the wallets <3). I'll have a few various photos up at some point tomorrow hopefully. It's currently 2am and homework needs doing for class is 16 hours x3

Also, I can't get a picture of it from where I am but there is a LOVELY huge, waxing pale-red moon out. Yet an even better end to the night!

Also for a note, whom ever it was carving (I can't recall names right now), if you were planning on keeping that chunk of wood, I do have it cause I wasn't sure or not if you meant to leave it.


But yes, again and again, GREAT hellva meet! Also, look for in the coming week for another CIDER MILL meet in October, hopefully on saturday the 13th.

This was a really fun meet, and it was definatly worth the trip up here. It actually felt good that some were all surprised to see that I was there and I kind of wished that I could talk alittle more, but meh. I was happy the whole time.
