okay heres whats up furries. theres like no furries up this way and some one asked about a cherry fest meet and me and biorave have decided to make one

so that we can see old friends make new ones and prob even dragg more furries outta the closet and be open about being a furrie.

We actually did this last year and it was quite enjoyable. You can see the old archived thread here: http://www.michiganfurs.com/forum/index.php?topic=7410.msg71558#msg71558  Biorave was there so she can probably give some good insight. I don't remember if you were there or not. Sorry.

I would really, really argue against fursuiting. Frankly, it'd be stupid to do. It's likely going to be quite hot. There is seriously nowhere easily accessible to change in/out of the suit. There will be children with sticky ice-cream/candy fingers everywhere. It's a pain to get downtown even now, what with tourists and bikers and skaters and hobos and dogs, and add suit + cherry crowds? No. Leave the suit at home. Wear the tail if you are ok with kids pulling on it.

Advice learned from last time and other thoughts-

Plan in advance, traffic will be a bear. If you are driving a distance, plan on adding travel time plus finding a parking spot time. The Hardy parking deck is under construction right now so there's whole floors out of commission. They hope to be done by the end of June but I'm not confident. (I have to park in that dang deck every day so I'll keep an eye on the situation). Rideshare as much as possible.

If you need to get cash from an ATM, do it before you get here. The ATMs will be cashed out from all the tourists.

Horizon Books worked pretty well as a meeting place last time.

A plan of activities would be pretty helpful. Last year we just wandered around, which was fine since there was a lot to see, but it also meant that people arriving late might have problems finding others. It'll be pretty hard to plan things though because it'll just be so crowded downtown that maybe some activities (lunch @ Pangeas, ice cream, whatever) might be unfeasible.

I'll add other thoughts if and when they occur.

My suggestion for parking is to park on one of the side streets (I usually park on Wadsworth, it's a good distance away and usually isn't too packed) and be prepared to walk.

this is shadow were having isuses with logging in and out of mi furs so yea lol so ijm acutaly moving the meet back to a date thats easy for every one to make it to this meet soo any suggestions 7-14th

well just gunna go with the 7th screw it no one has suggested a better date so were trying to make it if we dont have fun guys
