Hot Root Soup?

Trying to find a recipe or invent one to make a soup that I read about in the Redwall series.
It was called "Hot Root Soup".
Favorite to Otters everywhere.
But it sounds like one of those foods that would be delicious if actually made.
So if anyone has any ideas or recipes they would like to share, please and thank you.
And when I make it, I will share it with everyone who posted here.
Now doesn't that sound nice? :3

Shrimp'n'hotroot soup
Ingredients -
Serves Two
1 large onion (peeled and chopped)
2 medium-sized leeks (washed and chopped)
3 medium-sized potatoes (peeled and chopped)
250 g (8 oz) shrimps or prawns (peeled and cooked)
284 ml (1/2 pint) vegetable stock (made with a stock cube)
142 ml (1/4 pint) milk
25 g (1 oz) butter
1 tsp curry or chili powder (to taste)
salt and pepper (to taste)
Method
1. Lightly fry the onions, leeks and curry or chili powder for about five minutes in the butter until soft and transfer to a saucepan.
2. Add the vegetable stock, potatoes, and seasoning.
3. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are very soft.
4. Add the shrimps or prawns and milk and slowly reheat.
5. Serve with crusty bread and some cooling juice!
And I got this from "The Tribes of Redwall Otters" Book.

I KNEW there had to be a recipe book out there for the Redwall stuff. That food sounded too delicious for people not to come up with real dishes for it! I'm totally gonna pick that up now.

I Know Right! The only time my mouth has ever started watering, simply from reading a book, was while I was reading Redwall. So sad the author passed
